IGBO 2008 Bowling Centers
IGBO 2008 will be held at two bowling centers:
- Brunswick Zone - Norcross — Singles, Doubles, and Scratch Masters.
- Midtown Bowl (Formerly Express Lanes) — Team Event
Brunswick Zone-Norcross is located 22 miles (25 minutes) from Omni Hotel at CNN Center. Midtown Bowl is located 5.5 miles (10 minutes) from our host hotel. Both centers are accessible from the Hotel via the optional IGBO 2008 Shuttle Service, or via car. MARTA Rail/Bus service is not recommended to get to these facilities. Atlanta IGBO bowlers have enjoyed a long, prosperous working relationship with the management at Midtown Bwol—considered the gay-friendliest bowling center in the Southeast. Midtown Bowl has been the home of the Dixie Invitational Bowling tournament for over 20 years and numerous IGBO-affiliated bowling leagues (currently four active IGBO leagues).
Midtown Bowl recently changed owners, management and its name (formerly Express Lanes). For the past two years it has gone through an extensive remodeling. State-of-the art upgrades were made to the bowler sitting areas, snack bars, scoring equipment/software, and restrooms. Construction to upgrade lane flooring is scheduled to begin February 2008 and to be completed by Spring 2008.Midtown Bowl Amenities include:
